Nick Foster is a British true-crime author, and former diplomat, born and raised in Liverpool, England. He specializes in investigating real-life stories with a seemingly intractable mystery at their heart.

Nick’s first book was The Jolly Roger Social Club, the true tale of an American serial killer on the prowl in Panama. It was published in 2016 by Henry Holt in North America and Duckworth in the U.K.

Nick’s latest book is Murder at Roaringwater, a memoir of his six-year investigation into the murder of Frenchwoman Sophie Toscan du Plantier in County Cork, Ireland, in 1996. It was published by Mirror Books in 2021.

The Daily Mail described Murder at Roaringwater as “hauntingly beautiful, breathtaking… unputdownable”.

Nick has written many feature pieces for the Financial Times, the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, The U.K. Times and other media. He lives in Brussels, Belgium, with his wife and two sons.
