Marni Hughes

NewsNation Live
Anchor
Marni Hughes serves as the anchor of NewsNation’s mid-morning news program NewsNation Live (weekdays, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET.) She is also the force behind the NewsNation series, “Missing.” That’s where Marni takes viewers behind the headlines, investigating missing person cases from across the country. As Marni sees it, every missing person matters regardless of their background, circumstances, race, religion or past. Some of the stories covered are urgent, while others are decades old. What they all have in common is that the families and friends – sometimes entire communities – are searching for answers.

Prior to joining NewsNation, Ms. Hughes anchored the evening news for KCPQ-TV in Seattle, Washington where she played a strategic role in the expansion of the nightly broadcasts and launched a health franchise with a focus on wellness and lifestyle. During her tenure, she earned an Emmy for a series of stories highlighting the struggles families face raising kids on the autism spectrum. She was also recognized for her reporting on traumatic brain injuries and concussions specific to youth sports safety.

Previously, she worked as a journalist and anchor for KMSP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, KSTU-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah and WISE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She started her career as an associate producer at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
