Ken Maxwell is currently a Partner in the Maxwell Security Group, LLC, a security-consulting firm that provides professional security services and expert guidance in strategic security planning and risk mitigation to corporate clients.
In September 2014, Ken retired as the Vice President of Corporate Security for JetBlue Airways Corporation after twelve years of faithful service. While serving at JetBlue, Ken had executive management responsibility for all aspects of JetBlue’s security program including threat assessment and resolution, security risk management, regulatory compliance, investigations, security training, physical security of corporate assets and properties and oversight of “Blue Watch” the 24/7 security component of JetBlue’s System Operations Center that provides immediate assistance on security matters to all corporate entities.

Ken joined JetBlue after completing a thirty-year career in law enforcement, the majority of which was spent with the FBI. Throughout his tenure with the FBI, Ken served in a variety of positions, investigating and leading a myriad of significant cases including many of international prominence such as the TWA Flight 800 tragedy in 1996, the bombings of the United States Embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1998, the attack upon the USS Cole in Aden, Yemen in October 2000 and the infamous Al Qaeda attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. on 9/11/01. As the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s New York Office Counterterrorism Branch that fateful day, Ken managed the FBI’s immediate response to the attack on the World Trade Center and in its aftermath, led the largest investigative undertaking in FBI history until his retirement in October 2002.

Since September of 2015, Ken has been actively engaged with a television production company, “Hot Snakes Media” as an Executive Producer on challenging documentary projects.

During his tenure at JetBlue, Ken was an active member of the Airlines for America (A4A) Security Council where he served as its Vice-Chairman and was also a member of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Security Group (SEG). He maintains active membership in the U.S. State Department Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, the FBI Agents Association and is a “Life Member” of the International Security Management Association (ISMA). He is married and has four children and one grandchild.
